2021 Louise Purton Toy Appeal, In memory of Louise.
The Louise Purton Toy Appeal 2021 was particularly special: it was the first opportunity we had to host an in-person launch since the Appeal was named in honour of our much-missed friend and colleague Louise. We’re proud to say it was the best one yet.
The effect of the pandemic has hit the underprivileged especially hard, so we were anticipating a higher demand than ever in 2021. We were right. We didn’t need to worry though, as the fantastic people of West Berkshire delivered yet again. We printed 1000 vouchers for the first time, but that didn’t cover it. Thanks to all our amazing donors and supporters, more than 1200 vouchers were produced and redeemed last year.
Now we have closed the appeal, we want to thank everyone who has contributed. More companies and individuals have supported the Toy Appeal than ever before: we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to you all. A special mention must be made for Kelvin Hughes and the Newbury Community Furniture Project for once again being the epicentre of the operation: we genuinely couldn’t do it without you.
The Louise Purton Toy Appeal brings the best out of our community and brings a smile to hundreds of underprivileged young people at Christmas time.
Little gestures make a big difference.
